The latest order was to help increase the capacity for an existing cold room. Previously they had racking that had to be manually loaded on without any rollers, that can be a challenge and presents risk for manual handling.

Ben Uden called with an idea in his mind, advising it would be bespoke, but knowing we can taylor to his exact needs and the fact we would manufacture to order, not one size fits all/off the shelf take it or leave it!  Getting to know Ben well over many of our dealings, we knew he demands quality and good value, strong points of Mortuary Solutions! Within a couple of minutes of our conversation we sent him several images from other projects that we had completed, Bens response was “that is exactly what I want!”.

We designed & made stainless steel racking, which will best stand the test over time when compared to mild steel painted, which can scratch and rust, especially in a cold, damp environment! His cold room a little limited on space, we made open bay racking with 4bays of rollers per tier, a CAD drawing with a couple of amendments later all was signed off!  This design helps maximise capacity when stored with standard coffins, but doubles up for a wide coffin to straddle across 2bays when needed! This storage is very flexible V’s standard racking, for example if we were to put posts between each bay and have one bay bariatric sized this cold room would have lost 25% capacity!

Made from reinforced stainless steel tube, back bars to protect the rear of the cold room and fitted by our engineers!
