This installation consisted of a cold room with low noise remote cooling plant. Racking with trays, embalming sinks & sluice with a combination stacking/embalming trolley.
With careful consideration of space and design we diligently worked with our new client to discuss how we could make best use of the limited space and improve design. Our client had been visited and received a quote from a competitor, this competitor like many, is not a manufacturer and as such has severe restrictions to what they are able to do! Our client not totally convinced by them, invited us to quote. Not only was our quote better value, the level of quality was non comparable with ours being far superior! A survey was arranged and we managed to improve the cold room further from the dimensions the client had given. We managed to tuck our cold room ceiling panel up behind the RSJ steel to improve the cold room height. This helped us gain invaluable height, along with our low loading trolley to improve the tiers from 3 tier to 4 giving our client a valuable 12 capacity rather than 9. The competitor was also looking to offer 4 tier but by putting a set of rollers on the floor, which is a dirt trap but most importantly a manual handling/health and safety risk below a trolley lifting range that then must be manually lifted by hand. We also improved all 3 bays of racking, instead of just 1, to be obese width. As manufacture with space saving equipment we managed this design and recommended it to our client to help make loading easier even if they were putting smaller trays/coffins in the racking. After all it is better to utilise the space than have gaps beside the racking. We also opted for a large hinged door, strategically located, away from the centre of the room, which will be blocked whilst embalming is performed. A hinged door also was more practical and saves costs rather than sliding door. We drew several designs in CAD to scale with equipment and trolley entering the spaces to show it would work.
Being in a residential area we advised the client to opt for a low noise cooling plant selection, to minimise any noise complaint.
Post install, our client is finishing the mortuary room with white panel walls and plumbing the embalming station. We hope to update the post with finished images soon.
