A Mosque in Newcastle had a small mortuary area for a fridge and ritual washing.

This small room wasn’t practical for an end loading fridge, so opted for a space saving side loading fridge.

The garage like roller shutter door coils up neatly inside the fridge. Using stainless steel racking and deeper profile fabricated that are made to order to excellent water containment for ritual washing. These trays are used for both storage and performing the ritual wash with our combination trolley that both loads the fridge and tilts the tray over our double sink with 3m hose and shower. Reducing cost and need for a separate table/trolley and less manual handling of the body from a tray to a table and back.

The room was narrow left to right for the sinks with the trolley to go over, so we made the top equipment sink and lower drain sink as separate units to save space and allow more space for users and family for the observation of the ritual wash.
