Our customer invited our Sales Manager to their branch that had a conundrum! They needed more capacity but where to put it!

Initially the customer showed us their awkward cold room space, an odd shape with 3 doors leading to x 2 chapels and the mortuary. The customer already had a small rack in here blocking off a chapel meaning they had to bring deceased in coffins through public areas, having to temporarily lock the shop doors and screen off areas when doing so, very impractical!

The other issue the cold room wasn’t insulated and running at +5°C, it was suffering from interstitial condensation issues and had damp problems that the customer had spent money on in the past and it still hadn’t solved it! To insulate it would reduce the space further and be expensive! By adding another rack it would block the other chapel off plus be in the way to enter the room with a trolley and add to their problems!

We asked to look around and eureka, we identified a space currently used for minimalist storage of consumables right in their arrivals area beside their mortuary! They now have the capacity desperately needed and can remove their small rack from the cold room and no longer block the chapel off! The cold room can now be ran at a cellar temperature +10°C as a cool holding room and eliminate the interstitial condensation issues.
