Stibbard’s have recently completed their highly impressive new facility in Essex! The quality, planning and level of attention to detail have particularly impressed us, this takes some doing as we have been involved in the planning and development of many impressive mortuaries.
Stibbards new facility outshines many hospital mortuaries. The facility has large capacity refrigeration cabinets with pass through doors, receiving from the arrivals area to pass through to the high grade mortuary on the other side. The mortuary is furnished with two variable height embalming/dress and preparation tables each with a shower hose and power supply. The room has two stainless steel sinks each with 3 door cabinet storage. Each sink has a hydro aspirator and a shared sluice for the two stations. In another area of the mortuary is a third station for additional embalming, wash, dress prep and training with extended combination sinks/sluice including hydro aspirator.
Project supplied with 2no. power drive and powered roller trollies to aid users in reduction of manual handling, a MSGR RORO trolley and 2no. pass over stacking trolleys.
Double doors from the embalming room to lead to 2no. 3 doors additional refrigeration cabinets and large cold room for prepared and coffined deceased ready for viewing and service.

2no. variable height embalming stations with shower hose and power serving in front of 2no. sinks with hydro aspirators, storage and central sluice. The particular challenge here was designing around a cladded steel support column that impeded the sinks/sluice space, the design also had to factor low level air extraction. Being manufacturers we were able to design and make the equipment to work around this challenge to give a clean, sealed finish.
A further prep/embalming station with hydro aspirator, This is an extended version of our popular combi sinks/sluice providing valuable work top area for an embalming pump/other equipment. Here we have centered the lower front foul (drainage) sink to offer good user space all around the tray and note this version allows for better access to the sink. In front is our MSGR RORO transfer trolley that takes the fridge tray with drain to embalm over the sink. The trolley has a small hydraulic jack to enable a tilt for drainage over the sink.
Our powered drive trolley (motorised 5th wheel) with end powered roller assists users from arduous manual tasks of maneuvering loads and loading fridges/racking. Reducing the risks of repetitive manual handling and chances of injury to staff. Made in stainless steel for better resistance to harsh chemical and scrapes, the trolleys will look newer for a long time to come. High quality and thermally efficient cold room, installed with bespoke 20capacity racking. Made from heavy duty reinforced steel. We made 2 sections of multiple open bays and reduced the number of front posts to each bay, posts can get in the way when maneuvering a trolley to load coffins. This design maximises capacity while enabling wider coffins to take up two spaces also. The racking was designed around a building column where the fridge panels step in at the rear, right corner. The top tier nearest the evaporator, stops short for clearance and has an upright steel angle to eliminate the potential risk of a user hitting and damaging the cooling unit with a coffin and potentially putting a high capacity cold room out of action. We are experts in our field, working on all kinds of projects day in day out, we have the expertise and experience for such attention to detail others often fail to register!
