The funeral home demands had far outgrown their old mortuary, it was disjointed, limited space, awkwardly shaped and not giving them enough capacity.

Our new client had heard many positive things about Mortuary Solutions. We arranged to meet at the NFE show where our customer was able to get hands on and see the quality of our equipment up close! A survey was soon arranged. The space and shape of this mortuary was quite complex and not straight forward! Challenge accepted, as experts with all of our experience and design know how, we produced several CAD design layout options, surpassing our clients expectations as the review below will explain! Not only did we greatly increase capacity (additional 21), we also made the design future proof by including semi obese and obese storage!

We were able to use the existing mortuary footprint, thus preventing major build works and expanding into the garage area (as others had suggested), this would have resulted in losing at least 2 valuable hearse spaces, something the client was not prepared to do, it would have also severely impacted the flow and operation of the mortuary, having further capacity elsewhere in the building.

Not only was our quote best value, the client saved tens of thousands of pounds in building works. Our client didn’t think it possible, but we surpassed expectations for capacity, with clever design and our space saving cabinets that are designed and made specifically for mortuary application!

All cabinets fitted with remote plants. The previous supplier had fitted the cabinets with internal monobloc straddle units, as a result heating the room, the customer therefore had the additional expense of fitting an Air Conditioning unit and its ongoing running cost to cool the mortuary (very counter productive)! We used quality external J&E Hall condensers with low profile evaporators that are safely up inside the cabinets, above the door openings so that they cannot come into contact with coffins/bodies on the top tiers. Furthermore the large capacity cabinet was fitted with a dual system for reassurance and back up.

After chatting to Chris at the NFE, Chris kindly came out to measure up, design and quote us for our new fridges. We were pleasantly surprised with the quote, and the design, which was a challenge due to the shape of the available space. Chris managed to maximize our capacity in our awkwardly shaped mortuary, something LEEC failed to do (They suggested knocking down walls etc. – something we weren’t prepared to do). We now have every square inch of our mortuary utilised for maximum capacity.
